overall: andrew is fiercely protective of his friends. he would never see to stand any of them hurt and will do everything in his power to prevent it. as it happens, andrew has a fair bit of power on his side. while he was never a quiet geek, he paid attention in lessons (particularly those such as defence against the dark arts, charms and transfiguration) and walked out of each lesson with that extra bit of knowledge. when a situation presents itself to him, he is able to deploy this knowledge effectively. while hufflepuffs are usually viewed as less talented or even boring, there seems to be a general appreciation that andrew knows what to do with a wand and is just as good as anybody else in the school.

when it comes to his enemies, andrew will never deliberately initiate a conflict but that's not to say he won't rise to the challenge. although he wasn't sorted into gryffindor, he has enough pride to want to prove himself if someone doubts him. he unfortunately lacks the common sense to back down if he doesn't stand a chance, often relying on his friends to bring him back to reality. andrew's not afraid to voice his opinions and this sometimes gets him into trouble.

overall: andrew was born in wolverhampton to tobias and kezia cauldwell. his father had just qualified as an obliviator, a little later than others in his year as he'd worked in flourish and blotts for a while before his training. his mother kezia had been working at a primary school but took maternity leave to care for andrew before leaving completely. he attended a muggle primary school until he started to show magical talents, at which point he was withdrawn from the school and began learning some basic magic at home.

at the age of eleven, andrew's hogwarts letter arrived. he still had to wait a fair while before he could actually start, having been born in january. he did his shopping in diagon alley over the summer and couldn't wait for september the first. upon his arrival at hogwarts, andrew was sorted into hufflepuff. he wasn't initially fond of this placement but once he'd made some friends there, he wouldn't have had it any other way.

in his fourth year, andrew joined the quidditch team as a keeper and was given the post of prefect in his fifth year. he still holds both of these positions and as he intends to keep them until he leaves, he doesn't want to cause any significant trouble but will still break some rules in order to have fun with his friends
